Thanks for sharing this new!! We much appreciate it. However, there are two serious factual errors which convolute the story. The 1700 seat auditorium was not controversial. It was on the 1999 master plan and it was estimated to cost $12M. That auditorium was scrapped to build the park instead.

The outdoor amphitheater/sound stage did have some neighbors upset and it would have cost $200,000. Those were totally different facilities but they are confused into one in the article.
