The article below is a indication of the underlying problem with the management of recreational fisheries. The recreational lobby groups and some of their cohorts who claim to be members of our industry, do nothing to fix the issues facing the everyday recreational angler but have a slew of complaints, character assassinations and conspiracy theories to espouse.

These groups and individuals propagate these talking points to do two things. One is they always want to keep recreational anglers, the media, fishery managers and our elected officials eyes off of the solutions being offered and focus on the supposed failures of the process. Yet it is these same folks who have perverted the process by politically stonewalling any attempt to fix the problems facing the recreational fishery.

I call this "creating chaos to justify their existence."
