Rockin' for a cause: Musical benefit for Tag Graves Monday at Nervous Nellie’s

July 15, 2011
With such a wonderful response during the benefit at Valerie’s Lounge last month for local musician Tag Graves, who was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 liver cancer, organizers are planning a “Tag Graves Beneft: The Sequel,” this Monday, July 18, upstairs at Nervous Nellie’s (1131 1st St.), from 5 p.m. to midnight.

“We raised $4,000 during our last benefit for him, and as long as Tag keeps fighting, so will we!” said Karen Morreale, one of the many helpful organizers of the musical fund-raiser. “We are gathering together again to help him in the fight for his life. Please show your support by coming to the benefit upstairs at Nervous Nellie’s Monday.”

Just as the last successful benefit for Tag, there will be a wealth of amazing music from our very talented local musicians all throughout the event, including Steve “The Lucky Dog” Lutke, T-Bone, Flash Forward, Pulse, the Diane Russell Band, Backlash, Groove Alliance, Rob Robinson, Peter Grattan and more.

There will also be tons of raffles, prizes, 50/50s and a free buffet to all who join in for the cause. And, hopefully new Tag Benefit T-shirts will be available for a donation, as they flew off the shelves last time, being in such high demand!

Organizers are always looksing for a helping hand, whether it’s to help sell raffle tickets and T-shirts or assist in directing traffic through the benefit.

“If you can donate your time, your music or your services to help in this effort that is very close to all of us, please contact me or Joe Monroe on Facebook,” Karen said. “Anything would be much appreciated.”

Feel free to RSVP to the event by visiting and searching “Benefit for Tag Graves – The Sequel!”

“We’re keeping the fire burning, and we need all of you to make it happen,” Karen said. “We love each and every one of you, and God bless Tag Graves!”
