Folks at the Beach Pub have certainly been keeping busy, as coordinators recently wrapped up yet another successful Toys for Christmas event, along with their 10th annual Patrick Stott Memorial Bike Run. On Friday, Dec. 2, from 2 to 5 p.m. The Pub (1668 I St.) will host a very special benefit for local beach man Mike Coons, who was recently diagnosed with lung and brain cancer.
"Mike's such a great guy always at the local benefits and fund-raisers," said once-local "Maui Mark," good friend of Mike and sure to make a trip down from up north for the very special benefit. "Whenever anyone would have a benefit, Mike was there. He's always been a big supporter of the island. Now it is time that we supported him. I'm so fortunate enough to be able to come down and visit him and my beach friends during his benefit."
Throughout the benefit to help raise funds, local musicians Steve "the Lucky Dog" Lutke will perform, along with the sweet, soulful sounds of Mary Winner. There will also be some great raffle prizes and 50/50s, as well as plenty of fun and cheer.

"Every little bit helps, and I'm grateful for anything the Beach Pub and all the generous donors are able to raise," Mike said.
"Come on out it's going to be a great, great time," Maui said.
