Bonsai Society holds monthly meeting

Bonsai enthusiasts from Fort Myers Beach will hear from internationally renowned landscape and penjing artist Hal Mahoney on Saturday, Jan. 21, from 9 a.m. to noon. Guests are welcome at the regular monthly meeting of the Bonsai Society of Southwest Florida.

The meeting is held at the Support Personnel Association of Lee County (SPALC) Building at 6281 Metro Plantation Road, Fort Myers. There is no charge for attending the meeting and reservations are not required.

Bonsai is a horticultural art of growing trees in pots. It had its origins in China and Japan. Information about bonsai and the association will be available at the meeting.
