Two members of Lee County Visitor and Convention Bureau's management staff have recently been elected to hold organizational positions: Tamara Pigott and Nancy Hamilton.
Tamara Pigott, VCB executive director, was named treasurer of the Florida Association of Destination Marketing Organizations. Founded in 1996, the FADMO sets out to enhance and support the growth of the visitor and convention industry in Florida. Pigott was also appointed to the board of directors of American Shore & Beach Preservation Association. The ASBPA promotes the enhancement and preservation of American beaches and coastal waterways. As the VCB executive director, Pigott is responsible for strategic planning, as well as sales and marketing for The Beaches of Fort Myers & Sanibel.
VCB Communications Director Nancy Hamilton, APR, has been named to a two-year term on the Society of American Travel Writers board, where she will continue to serve on the executive board as secretary for the Atlantic-Caribbean Chapter. SATW is a professional not-for-profit organization that strives to uphold the highest level of journalistic and communications practices through the promotion of accurate and honest travel reporting.
Hamilton works closely with hundreds of travel journalists each year to secure editorial coverage in both national and international media outlets, while promoting Lee County as one of the top touristic destinations in Florida.
