Attention, all past and present New-Yorkers: A very special Buffalo-Rochester-Western-New-York party will be held at Parrot Key Caribbean Grill, 2500 Main St., Wednesday, Feb. 8, from noon to 4 p.m., and everyone is invited to join in on the northerner festivities.
"This is an annual event that we have done for the last seven years," said this year's party coordinator Marcella Matuszak, seasonal Fort Myers Beach resident, during her off-months away from her New York home. "People come and mingle. It's a great meet-and-greet event, walking around getting to know fellow New-Yorkers, wearing name tags and seeing who else is from your area. I've actually run into high school friends during these gatherings. I also met people who turned out to be neighbors up north and I never even knew it. You just never know who you're going to run into at these gatherings!"
During the four-hour party, enjoy Rochester's famous Zweigle's Red and White hot dogs, as well as cold Genesee beer both shipped straight down from Rochester, N.Y., for the special occasion.
Coordinators of the eighth annual Buffalo-Rochester-Western-New-York-Party are proud to announce the gathering will be held Wednesday, Feb. 8, from noon to 4 p.m. All you New-Yorkers in attendance, get ready for a cool blast from the north – including Genesee beer and Zweigle’s Red and White hot dogs. Above, seasonal FMB/Rochester-Buffalo residents Marcella and Jim Matuszak, Ron and Judy Nolan and Warren and Pat Cling invite the public to come and party Wester-NY-style next Wednesday. Marcella says Parrot Key will be offering other great specials during the party from the full bar, as well.
"This has been an annual event always held at Parrot Key," Marcella said. "Last year, we had about 500 Buffalo-Rochester-Western-New-Yorkers come. It promises to be a great time. Parrot Key has been so wonderful, always eager to help us with the party what a great place!"
These Buffalo-Rochester parties have proven to be such a big hit, Marcella says plans are in the works for the group's own website.
