Upcoming Activity

Beginning this week is a collection of Rivermist Designs, which consist of custom cards done by Gail Drohan. Many of the cards revolve around particular photos and it will be easy to see how the design and photo complement each other when you view the selection available for viewing. They are in the case on the second floor at the top of the stairs.

There an opportunity to create your own card for that perfect occasion or message. Gail will offer a class next month on March 8 where you can incorporate your own photo into the card setup. The picture should be 4"x6" or smaller.

The Friends have set up a tree just inside the front entrance that is a reminder this is February and Valentine's time. The tree features the theme "I love my library" and already on the tree are a variety of comments from authors on libraries. Feel free to add a heart of your own to the tree including your thoughts about the library.

Those who have wanted to have practice in Spanish are encouraged to sign up for the Conversational Spanish class on Feb. 9. This class continues on Feb. 16 and 23.

Book Club Title

"The Typist" by Michael Knight, the book discussion group choice for Feb. 23 has arrived and copies are available at the usual book discussion bargain. Check with staff at the front desk.

Cell Phone Use

Common courtesy when using a cell phone on library grounds makes the place more enjoyable for all. Chances are, you've been annoyed when a person talking loudly into a phone forces you to listen to business that you're prefer not being involved in. Private conversations, arguments, details about how an event went, or intimate knowledge of what's in a stranger's home are all things most of us prefer to do without.

With our crowded corners, please confine cell phone use to outside. Thank you for your courtesy.

Library Hours

Don't remember library hours? We are open 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday and Wednesday, 9 to 5 on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and 9-1 on Sat. Call for information. When we are closed, a recorder gives the hours of operation, either on 765-8162, or on 765-8163. We look forward to seeing you.
