Two of the biggest concert-planning gurus of Fort Myers Beach have recently teamed up, and that means one thing for the island: Be ready for bigger concerts, bigger names, more often!
Nervous Nellie's owner Rob DeGennaro, along with his new assistant general manager Stephen DeAngelis, have been very busy planning some very special up-and-coming events for the near future and very excited to finally share the news with Beach Bulletin readers.
Los Lonely Boys and TR3
Nervous Nellie’s is at it again – with owner Rob DeGennaro and assistant general manager Stephen DeAngelis planning away for some great upcoming concerts. On March 17, catch the St. Pat’s Rocks benefit show, featuring three amazing British tribute bands. And on April 15, as a tax relief gesture, catch Los Lonely Boys and the Tim Reynolds Trio. And more is in the works! Photo by MELISSA SCHNEIDER.
"We've just, officially booked the Grammy-award-winning Los Lonely Boys, along with TR3 Tim Reynolds Trio, who is the guitarist for the Dave Matthews Band for our Spring Fling Concert for Tax Relief, taking place Sunday, April 15," Stephen said. "We're very excited to announce the news and it's going to be a low-dose show, a small cover charge, so everyone can come and enjoy amazing music to celebrate the end of the tax season."
The low-dose show will be an all-day event at Nervous Nellie's, from 11 a.m. to about 6 p.m. Prior to Los Lonely Boys and TR3 taking the stage, several great local rocker groups will first rock the crowd just right.
"We're so happy to have these guys come down to Fort Myers Beach," Stephen said. "It's sure to be a great time, with great music and plenty of food and drink specials."

A day worth tributing
Coming up even sooner than Nellies' Tax Relief show (not soon enough), the local hot-spot eatery is eager to sponsor and host St. Pat's Rocks Day, Saturday, March 17, from noon to 10 p.m., taking place at the 1131 1st St. location, featuring some very wild, classic and trippy sounds of the '70s!
"We've got three tribute bands that day the best ones around these guys are fantastic," Stephen eagerly stated. "The Stones (Rolling Stones tribute band), Lost Roads (Eric Clapton tribute band) and Led-Head (Led Zeppelin tribute band) it's a British Invasion on St. Pat's Day! This is going to be an amazing show."
Benefitting the local CERT group (Community Emergency Response Team), Stephen said the huge benefit concert will take place in front of the beautiful fountain area of the establishment, completely closed in, with an array of fabulous vendors, raffles and prizes, and all types of great food specials, including corned beef and cabbage platters and more.
Oh, you want to know how much it'll cost you to rock this hard on St. Pat's Day?
"It'll cost you absolutely nothing. It's a totally free show," Stephen said. "It's a professional stage, professional lighting, professional sound, and all funds raised from the raffles will go to CERT."
During the after-party upstairs at Ugly's Waterside Bar, the very talented band Headcount will continue to rock St. Pat's night right.
Along with Nervous Nellie's, several other great companies will be sponsoring the event, including Guinness and MillerCoors.
"Come down, enjoy some great specials and great live music it's sure to be fun for all whether you're Irish or not!"
The tip of the iceberg
These two shows are just the tip of the iceberg for Rob and Stephen, as these two concert-planning fiends have plenty more up their sleeves. So, keep your eyes peeled in future Beach Bulletins and more wild adventures with Nervous Nellie's pops up.
