We're just a week away from the greenest day of the year, and St. Patrick's Day plans keep getting hotter and hotter, offered by great local hot spots who are ready to offer something extra special on Saturday, March 17. Don't forget your green!

Shamrock Irish Pub

As the oldest little pub on the Beach, you know the Shamrock Irish Pub has something green up their sleeves for St. Patty's Day. Be sure to swing by the 2201 Estero Blvd. location that day for an all-day celebration, featuring the one and only original Casey's Houserockers with Paul Stott making a special trip down from Orlando for the occasion.

It's still early and FMB establishments are already planning to rock the day right.

Also during the all-day party, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., enjoy chowing down on 200 pounds worth of professionally BBQ-ed corned beef and cabbage platters, $2 bottled beers, $2 green Jell-o shots, green beer and so much more.

"It's going to be the biggest party on the beach, and so affordable," said the Shamrock's Mike Hotz. "Last year, we ran out of 150 pounds of corned beef in five hours. So, this year, we've got 200 pounds plenty for everyone. Come on down to the oldest little Irish pub on the beach."

14th annual Town of Fort Myers Beach St. Patrick's Day Parade

The 14th annual Town of Fort Myers Beach St. Patrick's Day Parade will be held Saturday, March 17, carting down Estero Boulevard just as it has done for the last 13 years in a row.

Those marching in the parade should meet in the parking lot of the Santini Marina Plaza between 8:30 and 9 a.m. The parade will begin promptly at 10 a.m., heading north of Estero Boulevard toward the Church of the Ascension parking lot.

Enjoy the one-hour spectacle, complete with floats, color guard, neighborhood groups, musical bands, decorated cars, town officials and plenty of beads and green for everyone.

Traffic will be stopped on Estero Boulevard between 9:45 and 11 a.m., with assistance from the Lee Co. Sheriff's office, so residents and visitors should plan ahead if they need to leave the island that morning!

St. Pat's Rocks Festival

Nervous Nellie's Crazy Waterfront Eatery is eager to sponsor and host St. Pat's Rocks Day, Saturday, March 17, from noon to 10 p.m., taking place at the 1131 1st St. location, and featuring some very wild, classic and trippy sounds of the '70s!

"We've got three tribute bands that day the best ones around these guys are fantastic," Nervous Nellie's assistant general manager Stephen De Angelis eagerly said. "The Stones (Rolling Stones tribute band), Lost Roads (Eric Clapton tribute band) and Led-Head (Led Zeppelin tribute band) it's a British Invasion on St. Pat's Day! This is going to be an amazing show."

Benefitting the local CERT group (Community Emergency Response Team), Stephen said the huge benefit concert will take place in front of the beautiful fountain area of the establishment, completely closed in, with an array of fabulous vendors, raffles and prizes, and all types of great food specials, including corned beef and cabbage platters and more.

Oh, you want to know how much it'll cost you to rock this hard on St. Pat's Day?

"It'll cost you absolutely nothing. It's a totally free show," Stephen said. "It's a professional stage, professional lighting, professional sound, and all funds raised from the raffles will go to CERT."

During the after-party upstairs at Ugly's Waterside Bar, the very talented band Headcount will continue to rock St. Pat's night right.

Along with Nervous Nellie's, several other great companies will be sponsoring the event, including Guinness and MillerCoors.

"Come down, enjoy some great specials and great live music it's sure to be fun for all whether you're Irish or not!"

Get green on St. Patrick's Day, "Caribbean Style," at Parrot Key Caribbean Grill, as the establishment offers great live entertainment and tasty food and drink specials, featuring Irish stew and corned beef and cabbage cooked up by their very own "Chef Richie O'Sullivan."
