The Hot Flashz entertainment troupe, a non-profit cast of women ages 45 and older, presented a $2,000 check to Camp Boggy Creek at the Relay for Life event at Diamond Head Resort this past weekend. The dance troupe held a 4 p.m. performance on Saturday. Relay for Life is sponsored by the American Cancer Society.
The Hot Flashz perform all over a three county area to raise funds for Camp Boggy Creek, which was founded by the late Paul Newman and General H. Norman Schwarzkopf. This is a year-round camp facility where children from Florida whose lives are interrupted by serious illness are able to enjoy a carefree, traditional childhood experience. There is never any charge to families or children to attend Camp Boggy Creek. The Hot Flashz raise money to help support this primary charity, but they also support other local charities as well.
