Just as any great beach benefit on the island, the Mullet Toss wouldn't be possible without the help of the community those dedicating their time, their goods and their services to helping a wonderful, local cause.

The mullet, which makes the Mullet Toss possible each and every year, has been donated by Jeff Bonard of Island Seafood since the annual fund-raiser began more than a decade ago.

"We're in our 11th year of Mullet Tosses, and Jeff Bonard of Island Seafood has donated the mullet ever since day one," Lou proudly stated. "He told Tim (Miller) and me that he'd donate each year for as long as we had the benefit, and he's certainly stuck to that promise."

The Pub's annual Mullet Tosses have always been dedicated to the Kid's VIP After-School Program at Beach Elementary, originally hosted by Rev. Dick, then followed by Rev. Nadine, and now Rev. Gabriella.

"Ever since Rev. Dick asked for our help 11 years ago, we've been there to help the program out. It's a great after-school group that keeps the kids entertained and off the streets while their parents are working. The kids get help with their homework, they do fun crafts and activities it's a really great program that we're happy to help," Lou said.

So, with plenty of great live music, prizes, raffles, silent auctions, tasty treats, and flying fish, be sure to stop by the Beach Pub's 11th annual Mullet Toss Sunday, June 3, beginning at noon.

"It's sure to be a beautiful day, so come on down, have fun, and take part in the raffles, 50/50s and silent auctions, all for a great local cause," Lou concluded.
