August 27, 2012
Fort Myers Beach Bulletin, Fort Myers Beach Observer

Tropical Storm Isaac passed by Southwest Florida without making too much of an impact on Fort Myers Beach. Bands of rain continue along the seven-mile stretch, but the storm remains 150 miles offshore and moving WNW at 14 MPH.

There was a mandatory evacuation issued on the Beach but that has been lifted. There is currently no traffic on Matanzas Bridge as the sun rises.

The 5 a.m. weather advisory recorded winds at 65 MPH and 75 MPH gusts though rain patterns have been moving out of the area at a 40 MPH clip. There is a tornado watch all day in Southwest Florida.
