To the editor:
Have your friends or family had a car accident, medical emergency of any sort?
Chances are, they have. How would you like to be served by someone who may not have the best interest of you or your loved ones care?
This could happen if Lee County votes to privatize EMS services. Private companies are in it to make a profit. Government services are in it to do just that, serve.
I certainly do not want to take the chance of having a need, and being served by someone who is only looking out for their bottom line, and not a life.
Quite frankly, this "notion" of budgeting for services off the backs of the employees and at the expense of citizens needs to really come to a screeching halt. If there are problems in budgeting, fix them, but not at the expense of citizens.
