December 25, 2012
Fort Myers Beach Bulletin, Fort Myers Beach Observer

The Lee County American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer executive committee announces that Lee County's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event has raised more than $199,000 for the 2012 event, only $4,000 from the fundraising goal of $203,000.

The Making Strides event committee will continue to collect funds through Dec. 31, 2012 toward the event executive committee's goal. Funds raised will benefit the America Cancer Society's efforts in breast cancer research and patient programs.

Team leaders, individual participants and sponsoring companies can continue to contribute funds online at www.PutOnYourPinkBra.com/LeeCounty or by mailing contributions to the Lee County American Cancer Society's office at 4575 Via Royale #110, Fort Myers, Fla. 33919.

Nearly 4,000 participants attended the 2012 Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event, a non-competitive 5K walk uniting people of all ages with a common goal to fight breast cancer and save lives, which took place at Tanger Outlets on Oct. 20, 2012. Premiere Oncology was the presenting sponsor for this year's event.
