To the editor:
Recently, FMB ARTS FOR ACTION has donated more than 600 dollars to the Fort Myers Beach Elementary School Arts Program in an effort to help with funding for needed supplies to our island kids to be able to use art as a viable means of expression.
We are dedicated to helping our school kids and art classroom in any way we can. Today, we call on the entire island to step forward to help them to continue such a great program. We ask of every resident of the island to donate just $1 to the school arts program. There are more than 6,000 full time residents who reside here on island year round. Imagine if all 6,000 people donated just one dollar to this program and of how the needed supplies would no longer be any thought of a problem to obtain for years to come for future students of the arts at the beach school.
The only reason we believe in this "pay it forward" act of kindness is simply because we believe in our local kids and of course our local school arts program and their teacher, Holly Nichols. This island has always been about helping each other out one way or the other, so let's continue that grand tradition again for our great little elementary school artists to have the means to express themselves fully as individuals.
Your donation of just $1 will add up to incredible amounts of money that will without doubt reach the school art program from ever having to worry again of federal and state level controlled cutbacks upon public school programs as such.
We ask of you Beach residents to rise to the request to be a part of the real change: a community driven reality that is Fort Myers Beach with residents who will do anything for our island kids and beloved school.
Please send a check, money order, or drop off cash to the "Ft. Myers Beach Elementary School Art Program" at 2751 Oak St. Ft Myers Beach, Fl, 33931. In care of the kids art program.
Together we can unite for such a noble cause while letting the school and our kids know that we will always be there for them. Random acts of kindness will prevail.
Pay it forward as one FMB ARTS FOR ACTION.
