Cardinale Winery joins an all-star list of 17 local and national celebrity chefs participating in the second annual 3 Wishes extravaganza, themed "Cave of Wonders" Friday, Nov. 8, to benefit Golisano Children's Hospital of Southwest Florida, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southwest Florida and Make-A-Wish of Southern Florida. This year's event will be held at the Sidney and Berne Davis Art Center, in downtown Fort Myers, from 6 p.m. to midnight.

The evening will include a progressive dinner, where guests will weave through the Marketplace, dine in the Sultan's Palace and then complete their evening in the Cave of Wonders. While in the Marketplace, guests will enjoy belly dancers, appetizers and a signature drink.

For dinner, guests will enter the Sultan's Palace for a three-course meal with wine pairings by Cardinale, followed by a live auction. To conclude the evening, guests will gather in the Cave of Wonders for exquisite desserts.

Event co-chairs Michele Eddy and Lori Sampson-Wilson promise an evening peppered with unprecedented surprises.

Cardinale, located in the heart of Napa Valley's world-renowned Oakville District, crafts a single Cabernet Sauvignon from each vintage. The wine is a limited-production blend from Napa Valley's most recognized mountain appellations including Mt. Veeder, Spring Mountain, Howell Mountain and Diamond Mountain. Every bottle reveals the artistic sensibility of wine-maker Christopher Carpenter.

In addition to the high-end red and white wines, Cardinale is also donating an once-in-a-lifetime Northern California wine exploration package for the event's live auction. The highest bidding couple, along with two of their friends, will visit Northern California Wine Country and discover three award-winning wine growing regions: Napa Valley, Sonoma County and Mendocino County's Anderson Valley, all while staying in luxurious accommodations.

"We are grateful for the willingness of such a highly acclaimed winery, as well as the local and national celebrity chefs working with us this year," said Eddy. "We are creating a signature event that will bring awareness to our three local children's charities, supported by a giving community."

"This event should be a 'must-do' on anyone's event calendar," added Sampson-Wilson. "We will have an extraordinarily memorable experience for our attendees."

At last year's event, more than 30 guests enjoyed a three-course progressive evening hosted by Michele Eddy, Gary King and Rose O'Dell King along with Norman and Mary Love. More than $30,000 was divided equally among the same three local children's charities.

Local chefs and restaurants provided food for the evening including Hemingway's (Chef Justin Fleming), Sea Salt (Chef Fabrizio Aiello) and Norman Love Confections (Chef Norman Love).

According to Sampson-Wilson, this year's goal will be to have all donations given to the charities with costs covered by sponsorship dollars.
