* Traditionally, Valentine's Day is the busiest day at the Clerk of Court Recording Office for wedding nuptials.
In 2013, 25 couples chose to get married in the Wedding Room at the Lee County Clerk's Recording Office rather than a wedding chapel.
For a ceremony fee of $30 (in addition to the $93.50 for the marriage license) the ceremonies can be a cost savings and do not require months of planning.
The Wedding Room is usually available on a first-come, first-married schedule allowing 15-minutes for each event. In order to accommodate all couples wishing to exchange vows in the Wedding Room on Valentine's Day, reservations are encouraged and advised.
Couples may also request to have the ceremony performed outside, in front of the old courthouse banyan tree, weather permitting. For an optional cost, Smart Start wedding packages are available include photos, a keepsake certificate and online wedding announcements on our website.
The Recording Office is opened between 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is located in downtown Fort Myers on the second floor of the Administration Building, 2115 Second St., Fort Myers.
