There will be a charity poker run and block party in downtown Fort Myers Saturday, June 14 to support Fort Myers Fire Department Engineer Bill Damewood. As with so many others firefighters lately, Bill was suddenly diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer about a month ago. The poker run officially starts at 11 a.m. at Parrot Key/Salty Sam's, 2500 Main St., Fort Myers Beach. From there you can hang out for up to 1.5 hours at each stop or cruise straight through them. From Parrot Key, organizers have partnered with Bar Louie in Gulf Coast Town Center (Alice & Ben Hill Griffin) for stop number 2. The official lunch spot is #3 at Shoeless Joe's, in Bell Tower shops (Daniels & US 41). Stop #4 is Ker's Winghouse (41 & Colonial). Stop #5 and the block party will be Downtown Fort Myers at Ford's Garage. The block party kicks off at 6 p.m. at Ford's Garage, Downtown Fort Myers. Dean Street will be blocked for Pipes and Drums, Pink Heels, and first come motorcycle parking from 2 to 10 p.m. There is also a 50/50 drawing and great raffle prizes at each stop. You can also skip the drive and draw all five card's at Fords Garage between noon and 6:30 p.m. For questions, more info, or to order shirts, visit Facebook.com/BikesBeerandBill.
