Suspect sought in case of dog dragged by truck

Lee County Domestic Animal Services is seeking information about a young, black and white American Staffordshire terrier that was dragged from the back of a pickup truck Saturday, June 21. Witnesses on E. Retunda Parkway in Cape Coral say they saw a dog tethered to the bed of a large red truck fall out on to the pavement at approximately 11:30 a.m. They also report that the dog was dragged by its tether until the driver and passenger stopped. The man and woman then cut the dog loose and drove away.

The dog was transported to an emergency clinic for treatment for a broken leg and road rash. She is currently recovering at Lee County Domestic Animal Services shelter.
