Open letter to all Big Carlos Pass Stakeholders

July 2, 2014
Fort Myers Beach Bulletin, Fort Myers Beach Observer

To the editor:

The Island Board of Trade (IBOT) Board of Directors, Joanne Semmer, Eric Tibbs, and Jessie Titus along with Kathy & Al Durrett of Fish Tale Marina would like to thank everyone that attended last Wednesday's meeting and those that gave their support via emails.

This is the beginning of a new future for Big Carlos Pass and Estero Bay. We will continue to keep you informed of progress of the Lee County Proposal.

For those who were not able to attend the meeting, Lee County will be submitting a new permit process that should be expedited within an eight-month timeline, hopefully sooner.

Lovers Key Nourishment and Bonita Beach Nourishment have already begun. Big Carlos Pass should follow these two projects. West Coast Inland Navigation District, Department of Environmental Protection and the US Army Corps of Engineers are going to work diligently together on this project.

If you would like to send a thank you letter to Commissioner Larry Kiker for his hard work in getting this project started, we are sure he would appreciate it. His address: PO 398, Fort Myers, FL 33902. His email: .
