Participants needed for Fort Myers Beach 4th of July Parade

June 22, 2016
Fort Myers Beach Bulletin, Fort Myers Beach Observer

Organizers are saying this could be the best Fourth of July Parade ever, but more participants are needed and there is still time to sign up.

"At last count we had nine units registered for the parade," said Bud Nocera, president of the Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce. "We would like to double that to 20 units; 30 would be even better. Normally we have 30 units participating. We want to be sure everyone understands there will be a Fourth of July parade, and everyone can participate in it."

The theme, as always, is simply Independence Day.

"Red, white and blue, be creative," Nocera said when asked about a decoration theme.

There is a $20 fee to enter, which goes to the Town of Fort Myers to cover paperwork costs.

"Everyone who wants to take part is welcome, even if it's just a car, come one, come all!" organizers said.

To register for the parade contact Sarah Mayher at 765-0202 ext 1802.
